Our classes are taught by friendly, experienced, nationally certified instructors. Add variety, and learn how to exercise safely, with an instructor who's truly qualified. Each class is an introduction on proper use of our weight equipment. A certified personal trainer designs and leads you through a carefully planned program. If you have special concerns, we can modify the exercises for you. And after you have learned what to do, you may come as often as you like to practice and learn new routines and circuit rotations.

 Toning Class (40 minutes)
Free weights produce effective, fast results! A personal trainer can introduce you to this traditional form of exercise. The trainer leads you through a fun class to music. We have a great time! The class will help you learn proper form, add variety, and develop great stability and strength. This class is appropriate and modified for all levels of fitness, and most abilities.

Ab Lab

Taught by personal trainer and instructor, Pauline, 30 minutes of abdominal and core focus.

 

Body Blast

(This class was formerly our morning Kettlebells class, but Pauline has expanded on the idea.)
Total Bodyblast is a challenging 55 minute class that attacks the entire body – glutes, hips, thighs, chest, back, shoulders and arms using Kettlebells, free weights, stability balls, BOSU balls, mini-bands, and other fun toys.

Circuit Training

Taught by personal trainer and instructor, Pauline, this class takes you several stations set up in the classroom, to give you an all around workout.

 

 

 

Indoor Cycling (1 hour)

Indoor cycling is back, with Pauline, our motivating trainer who is certified to teach indoor cycling. She will push you through an incredible cardio workout.  Burn up to 700 calories in one hour to some of your favorite music!

 

Kettlebells

Where can you get the most effective, short and intense, cardiovascular and strength workout within 45 minutes? Look no further. Kettlebells address the entire body as a unit simultaneously. Whether you are looking to vaporize fat, scorch your lungs,demand new strength or improve your overall level of conditioning, kettlebells are the solution. They deliver the workout you have always wanted and are often touted  “the extreme handheld gym.”

 

Pilates (55 minutes)

Pilates exercises increase flexiblity and stability, stengthen abdominals, revive energy, and help to restore proper posture and alignment througout the body. Physical therapists, physiologists, chiropractors and more agree that Pilates fundamentals are wonderful for helping all kinds of people. Dancers, gymnasts and skaters have found that the exercises build incredible strength in the "core". The "core" are all deep muscles in the trunk. Scientists have proven that Pilates exercises strengthen the abdominal muscles far more than the traditional crunch or sit up. The exercises also strengthen the stabilizer muscles in the neck, shoulders and back.Pilates is the last name of a man named Joseph Pilates who lived in Europe. Pilates designed a form of exercise in the early 20th century.

This class is taught by Kristin, the owner of the gym. She has over 13 years experience in teaching Pilates  These exercises were used to rehab war veterans. She will help modify your workouts for your different needs.

 

R.I.P.P.E.D. ®

Taught by personal trainer and instructor, Pauline, this class combines R-esistance, I-ntervals, P-lyometrics, P-ower, E-ndurance, and D-iet training to fun music. Come get R.I.P.P.E.D. with Pauline! And let us know if you would also like a Saturday morning class!

Sit and Fit (1 hour)

This is a group strength class which is  taught to music. Suitable for people who are in wheelchairs, need extra focus, or have trouble standing for any length of time. A personal trainer leads the class through a series of progressive exercises, utilizing different sizes of dumbbells and stretch bands or tubing. The pace is steady. Everyone learns together, and everyone has a great time! Come try it out! 

 

Sit Strong (1 hour)

This class utilizes the machines in our weight and circuit rooms. A personal trainer carefully gives one hour of focus to the class members, while assisting in adjusting equipment and directing through various exercises. Members of the class can sit at each machine. And we can even accommodate wheelchairs. 

 

Yoga

Classes begin with warm up, then participants are guided through a series of asanas (potures) with attention given to individual ability and experience. The session ends with a period of guided relaxation.

 Zumba Gold ® (45 minutes)

 

Taught by gym owner, Kristin LaMoure, Zumba Gold is an easier version of the above popular class. While we show modifications in all our Zumba Fitness classes, Zumba Gold is taught at a fun, easy level. You will get a great workout, and learn the steps and routine at a pace that anyone can keep up with or kick up a notch. This class is perfect for beginners and folks who aren't quite sure how to modify the fun Zumba movements for orthopedic concerns. Class is 45 minutes in length, and include warm up, cool down and stretching

*NOTE: Sequim Gym is the only place on the Olympic Peninsula that offers a Zumba Gold class. Three of our instructors are licensed to teach this specialized class. Come on. You KNOW you have wanted to try Zumba. Now we make it even easier for you to party with us!!!!

 

Zumba ® class (1 hour)

Taught by Zenie Puntenney, Lihui Gordon, or gym owner, Kristin LaMoure, Zumba fitness is a dynamic and exciting program full of Latin and exotic music flavors. The routines feature aerobic interval training with a combination of fast and slow rythyms that tone and sculpt the body. It targets areas such as glutes, legs, arms, abdominals, and the most improtant muscle in the body, the heart! It's a mixture of body sculpting movements and easy to follow dance steps. No previous experience in dance is needed to have fun! JOIN THE PARTY!

 Classes are 1 hour in length, and include warm up, cool down and stretching
