Sequim Gym is pleased to support our community through running events. Next up is the first annual "Turkey Trot" 5k,
Date: Thanksgiving morning November 22nd Time: 8:15 a.m. (late registration, pick up number and donation drop off) Please arrive at LEAST 15 MINUTES before start time.
Start time: 9:00 a.m. Starting Location: Morse Creek Olympic Discovery Trail Parking
Runners will run north then west through the woods and along the beautiful waterfront trail to appropriate turnaround points.
We are thrilled to offer you a fun, holiday run!
Walkers are welcome on 5k, but course will only be open for 1 hour, and you must steer clear of runners. Stay to the right.
We are requesting a $25 dollar donation to the local food banks. Make check payable to Food Bank. We will distribute them to Sequim and Port Angeles. If you prefer, please bring non perishable items, particularly proteing items.

In consideration of my participation in this event, Sequim Gym's Turkey Trot, on 11/22/2012, I for myself, my heirs, executors, and administrators, waive all rights and claims for damages I may have against Sequim Gym, Kristin LaMoure, Cycles LaMoure Clallam County, The Olympic Discovery trail, their agents, volunteers, employees, representatives, successors, and assignees for any and all injuries suffered by me at said event, or which may arise out of my traveling to, participation in, and returning from this event. I grant my permissions to use any photographs of this event for any legitimate purpose. I further state that I and my dependants are in proper physical condition to participate in this event, either in full or part. By checking the box below, I acknowledge the advice that is appropriate to receive clearance from a physician and properly train before participating in any new physical strenuous activity. By agreeing in the box below I also acknowledge that I do not hold any of the parties mentioned above responsible for the loss or theft of any personal clothing or property. In referring to a minor, as the participant above, I affirm I am the guardian described above, and apply all same releases to aany above minor participant.
Rules and tips for participating in the "Turkey Trot" 5k or 10k, Nov. 22 2012:
  1.  PLEASE ARRIVE AT LEAST 15 MINUTES BEFORE START TIME. Registration opens at 8:15. Start time:9:00 a.m.
  2. Carpool to the event and park legally in designated areas.
  3. Stay to the right along the route, with no more than 2 persons in width, allowing for returning and passing participants.
  4. Walkers and slower runners must line up and start as instructed and in designated areas.
  5. Dress appropriately for the weather, but layer clothing. Label outer layers, hats, and gloves.
  6. If removing outer layers, and carrying is not possible, please hand off to a known spectator or volunteer. Do not toss onto or across route, which could be dangerous to other participants. Do not toss off the route, as this may result in littering or loss of clothing.
  7. Adjust your pace accordingly, but if you must stop or slow down, move to the right.
  8. Drink water, and re-fuel appropriately.
